Kylie Hand serves as the Director of STEM and Online Learning for the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) having previously served as the Online Learning Coordinator. Her professional expertise centers on areas of online and blended learning, professional development, STEM and maker education, technology integration, and early childhood education. Prior to arriving at the CCIU, Kylie served as a district administrator as the coordinator of instructional technology and innovation for the Brentwood Borough School District in Pittsburgh where she was responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating technology used by students, faculty, and staff. She previously served as a classroom teacher for eight years in the Chartiers Valley, Kutztown Area, and Quaker Valley School Districts. A native of Pittsburgh, Kylie moved to the greater Reading area in 2017, and in 2021, relocated further south to Delaware County’s Upper Darby Township with her husband. Kylie holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Duquesne University, Masters of Public Management from the Heinz College of Carnegie Mellon University, and principal certification from Drexel University. She was inspired to get involved with PGSS by her sister Emily who attended PGSS 2004.
